A 55 year old man died after he allegedly jumped from the balcony of Outer Delhi’s Bhawana police station where he was called for questioning regarding the whereabouts of his son on Monday. The son of the deceased Rahul is involved in two cases of attempt to murder and has been declared an absconder by a city court. The deceased has been identified as Balraj, a resident of Bajitpur Thakran. The incident took place around 7:30 pm on Sunday when Balraj was asked to sit in a room after being questioned. DCP Gaurav Sharma said Balraj was being questioned in presence of his son in law and his relatives. After being questioned Balraj went to the third floor balcony on the pretext of looking for water and jumped from there, said the police department. But there were no evidences of a suicide. His body was sent for autopsy at a government hospital immediately. Police officers said that the preliminary report suggests that Balraj died after falling from a height. However, his family members alleged Balraj was taken to the police station around 11am by two policemen when no one was at home. Balraj’s second son, Sunil said that he received a call from his father around 7 pm where his father appeared to be traumatized and asked his son not to go to the police station even if he receives a call from the cops as he would be attacked too. Balraj also asked Sunil to save him. The cops claim that it was a suicide, while the family members accused the police for intimidating Balraj. Police, who denied these allegations, have initiated disciplinary action against constable Praveen and sub inspector Gajender
